‘Twas 2 Days Before Competition

Hello Loves!

I have to apologize for having gone missing since my last post. I didn’t know how hard things will be for me during the last weeks of competition. So here I am sitting in my hotel 2 days out from competing. I am tired yet excited, I thought maybe I should do a quick recap of the last two weeks for you guys.

This was my last check in with the world though I check in with my coach everyday

My coach started me on a depletion diet 3 weeks out, which meant fish, chicken, and veggies for 4 days no carbs and then I have carbs on the 5th day, this carb cycling is to get me as lean as possible by losing body fat. I couldn’t have salt and anything with sugar so fruits were out of the question, just green tea, coffee, and herbal seasoning like thyme, rosemary etc. I pretty much ate to survive and build/cut muscle, it was horrible because I just force the food down. The biggest side effect of this diet is being tired and moody! There were many days where I cried in the gym while working out because I was just emotional, tired, and moody.  Last week, I also had a mock show and I won the show over and over again. That really boosted my confidence  and made me appreciate all I am doing.  However, I am still practicing and pushing until I get off that stage on Sunday night.

Right before the mock show. I was so happy to have won the mock show.

As we got closer to this week, my gym sessions changed to higher repetitions and lower weights to help really define muscles. I also started taking a diuretic to help me shed water and really show my muscles. I am seeing the results of that today as I just finished my last gym session I saw muscle definition which brought tears to my eyes. There is nothing else I can do between now and Sunday but carb load today and tomorrow and get my tan done tomorrow. It has been a long road to get here but I am excited to have taken this on. The picture below is of my last gym session that I just finished, I am happy with what I see.

My last gym session 2 days before competition. I worked my shoulders. I was tired, moody, and hungry but I had to focus and get it done.
