- I’ve been in a plane crash. My family went on vacation to Venezuela and Curacao when I was about 7 years old. The plane crash landed in Curacao. I was more upset that my cousin got to slide down the emergency ramp than I was by the actual crash. The things we value at 7 years old.
- I still love to fly. I’m in Portugal in the photo above.
- I’m a procrastinator. I try to convince myself that I work best under pressure (which is true), but the fact is it’s usually self-induced pressure.
- My favorite color is green. I used to resist the fact that green was my favorite color because I always felt pressured to like pink. My birthstone is emerald and I remember not liking any emerald jewelry my parents gave me growing up. But now I’ve embraced it.
- I love eggs. I used to eat 3 eggs every day; I removed 2 yolks to reduce the cholesterol. What’s crazy is that I was allergic to eggs as a child. But I loved eggs so much that I forced my body to accept it. Mind over matter.
- My other pet-peeve is when people don’t say “Please” and “Thank you.” I mean really, it cost you nothing to be polite.
- I end every call with my family by saying “I love you.” I started doing that when I left home for college. You never know when the last time you speak to someone, is the last time.
- My favorite Disney movie is Sleeping Beauty. The artwork in that movie was spectacular. It’s also why my favorite composer is Tchaikovsky. My second favorite is Cinderella. I love movies with a little magic and a fairy god mother (or three).
- I’m a little OCD about hand-washing. My mom is a nurse and I have 2 dogs. Enough said.
- My favorite fashion decade is the 1950s. Women wearing hats, pearls, full A-line dresses and gloves on a daily basis? Sign me up!
