Hello everyone, so I decided to straighten my hair this weekend at about 8 weeks post. The roots at this point refuse to stay straight because I have so much new growth. When I get it professionally straightened they last throughout the week but I guess its not that important since you cannot tell with everything back anyways.
As you can see I definitely need to get a trim which I will in the next few weeks and then I will then make some comparison pics. On the upside I am satisfied with the growth but on the flip side, I do not like the s except for the shabby ends and they make me worry about breakage. I am also frustrated that my entire hairline refuses to corporate and not break so I am still working on improving that. I am also not used to allowing my hair to start looking this thin because in the past, I trimmed every 2 months or so but I am currently limiting trims to twice per year or three times at the very most. I really hope that when I do get trimmed soon, all that stringiness will be gone by cutting only an inch or so. If not, then I will gradually trim away the lifeless parts and start getting them a bit more frequently. I just want to retain as much as possible without causing more damage from keeping damaged parts too long and I may have just not yet found the perfect balance. Staying optimistic because this is why it is called a journey I guess. Here are the pics!
