I have always been very skeptical about making the plunge for an expensive hair dryer because I was not convinced that the price tag for a name brand machine that simply blows dry heat was really worth it. When my old Revlon dryer just stopped working, however, I decided to do some research (the thing that I kept seeing come up is that professional dryers get extremely hot so they dry your hair quickly, which helps prevent heat damage ) and eventually purchased the FHI Heat Platform with a diffuser attachment on Amazon. I love my new baby a lot so far because it really helps to set my scrunch without drying my hair out. It also does it extremely quickly so that I do not have to expose my hair to harsh heat for too long. I have only had it for a few weeks now but so far no regrets and it seems to be a worthwhile investment.
Let me say that I do know that heat is generally bad even from a diamond encrusted million dollar device but I have to get rid of the excess water so my wet hair doesn’t freeze or get me sick when its really cold. I like to scrub my scalp with just conditioner every 3 days or so, so I end up leaving the house with wet hair a lot and scrunching is generally my style of choice (fast and easy and if comes out ugly, which it sometimes done then I just gtta bun it instead). If you use a blow dryer as often as I do, then I would advise on getting a decent one. If you use it once in a while though, then I do not know if the pay off is worth it to be honest. Just my two cents. GL growing!
PS. I have not posted progress pics in a while but I am getting relaxed and trimmed in about two weeks so I will post then. Not trimming more than twice a year has been a royal pain the butt by the way but worth it in helping to retain length ! 🙂
