If you are anything like me then you love very easily done styles that are not time consuming. For this reason, I love my wash and gos and could not do without them. I condition my hair at least twice per week and sometimes more if my scalp is dry or if I simply feel like it. Because my hair breaks a lot more when it is wet, I do not detangle my wet hair more than twice per week. If I get it wet in-between this then I simply do my wash and go method without detangling. I know this might sound a bit risky but as long as my hair is properly moisturized then not detangling after a conditioner never creates extra tangles. I find the same amount of hair, each time I wash so I figured what is the point of breaking hair while detangling when I am just going to scrunch it anyways.
To create this look, I simply wash my hair and condition as usual or just co-wash. I then apply my leave in conditioner and castor oil to seal. I detangle after adding these products then leave it for about ten minutes to partially air dry. After about ten minutes I begin scrunching my hair for around 5 minutes and aim to create as much curl as I can. Sometimes, I use a little Aussi Sprunch Mousse plus leave-in conditioner (which adds moisture and a gives me a loose enough hold ) or I do not use any mouse at all.
My Hair generally lasts for about three days before I have to completely soak it again. To maintain the look, each day I spray it down with a very light leave in conditioner or my water and glycerin mix or plain water and scrunch again. I do not add any more product because I do not want to weigh my hair down. The leave in or glycerin mix is enough moisture for me and keeps my hair thoroughly hydrated. If it looks dull or too frizzy, I will rub a tiny amount of oil through my hair.
Scrunching is honestly not my favorite style in the world because I prefer my hair a lot more straightened and styled but this is quick, easy and heat free, so I love doing it. This is still an experiment for me and I am learning as I go along and would therefore, appreciate any tips from ladies who also scrunch on how to improve the look. The Aussie mouse works great but my favorite mousse is the Keracare brand because it gives me more moisture and flexibility. Keracare products are unfortunately, however, a bit pricey and I tend to finish mouse quickly so the Aussie is a great alternative.
