Hi everyone! So I got a relaxer yesterday after being 9 weeks post. I do not normally go for 9 weeks but I was attempting a stretch to see if that works for me. Unfortunately, however, I find that my hair tends to break way too much after about the 8th week because it is difficult to comb through the two textures, especially when wet and I like to wet my hair at least twice per week.

- I have not completely given up on this but I will have to find a product that makes my new growth extremely soft to go for a longer stretch. I always use Affirm sensitive scalp relaxer and let it sit for about 8 minutes. Apparently it should remain on the hair for twenty minutes to get the full effect since it is a mild relaxer but I am trying to avoid completely straight hair. I do not know if there is enough texture left to be considered texlaxed but that was the idea. After relaxing, my hair still had a decent amount of curl pattern to it and was not dead straight.

Overall, it came out great but the one thing I do not like is that it seems a bit thinner than usual, though I am not entirely sure. I did not trim my ends which is very hard for me because I love blunt ends but I am trying to cut back trimming to maybe every other relaxer or even less depending on how well my hair holds up so that I can retain more length.
