Wig Wash Day Routine

I’m trying a new technique for my wig wash-day routine. Normally I would remove all of the cornrows and wash my hair every weekend. Well my scalp is actually doing pretty well right now, no itchiness or flaking. So I decided to see if I can go two weeks between washing my hair.

I still have to wash the left out hair, so that it blends seamlessly with my wig, Jorjayna. I co-washed with my usual conditioner Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner.

This is the amount of hair I left out.

First, I cover the cornrows with a shower cap.

Next, I saturate the left out hair with conditioner.

I didn’t use any heat to deep condition the front. I might try that next time and also stream the cornrows. To rinse, I used a paper towel to gently clean the scalp area. I applied my usual leave-in conditioners and let the front air dry. In the morning, I will flat iron the front and blend with Jorjayna.

What do you think of this abbreviated wash-day routine?
