So, I Had a Bad Hair Day

Yesterday, I washed my hair and then let it air dry in bantu knots. I had the best intentions to lightly blow dry and flat iron it in the morning before I went to the office. Well, I woke up and started working on the KibibiHair Twitter account (more details to come) and that took longer than I expected.

When I got around to styling my hair, this is how it turned out. Now I remember why I don’t like to air dry in bantu knots, especially this far into my stretch. Sigh.
In the interest of time, I put my hair in a high ponytail, tucked my ends under, and pinned them in place. Today was insanely cold (high 20s) and the wind was unforgiving. Fortunately, my end stayed protected.
I’m currently 11 weeks post and I plan to relax my hair in three weeks. The last two weeks of my stretch are usually the most challenging and thus I’m at a greater risk for damaging my hair with excessive manipulation. I credit my last trim to damage caused during the last 2 weeks of my 16 week stretch.
When I got home tonight, I sprayed my hair with aloe vera juice. I plan to take a shower without a shower cap, so the steam helps to loosen up the bantu knot set. I’m not sure what I will do it after that, so stay tuned for an update tomorrow.
