My family is hilarious, crazy, and loads of fun all wrapped up into one. We are big on themed parties and everyone really gets into character for themed events. Today, we had a 70s inspired birthday party for my uncle.
He is a 70s baby and the party was appropriately decorated with multicolored streamers, ‘Happy Birthday’ signs, and of course – a fully functioning disco ball.

I initially planned to curl my hair using a similar technique to the one I did in this video, except with steam rollers. But I did not have time so I went with a hippie, flower-power, straight style. I used a ribbon to create my headband to complete the look. My motto for the night was “Love, peace, and no hair grease!”

As an aside, I had one-day notice that the party was 70s themed. So I created this outfit with clothes I found in my closet at my parents house in Miami. The fact that my mom doesn’t throw anything away came in handy. I got a trophy for “Best Dance” after my performance of the Hustle and a split. Good times all around.
