Yesterday was game night at one of our friend’s house and my hair put up quite a fight. Since I went riding on Thursday, my hair was not in an ideal state for styling. I planned to just throw on my go-to hat and wear a low ponytail. Well, that was a fail.
The hat could not get down on my head and it was so tight that it felt like it was squeezing my brain. I tried different style variations including twisted pig tails, and a low bun. Also, I tried flattening my new growth with a scarf and then putting the hat over the scarf. After about 45 minutes of wrestling with my hair, my poor ears were red and my arms were tired. At this point, we were running late for the party, so I just wore a low bun.
When I wash my hair this weekend, I plan to lightly flat iron it so I can have more style options. I view my hair as an accessory and I strongly prefer to wear my hair down and out. I don’t see the point in having long thick hair only to wear it in a bun all the time.
So if you’re keeping score, my new growth is winning. Touché new growth. Touché.
