Hair Texture: Before & After Flat Ironing

Before, with flash

I went to Miami this past weekend for my cousin’s wedding. On Saturday, I went to the welcome reception, but didn’t have time to thoroughly flat iron my hair. So instead of doing small sections for silkier results, I did large sections to save time. On the day of the event, I did my usual flat ironing routine.

Both times I used my Sedu flat iron, FHI Hot Sauce heat protectant, and used the lowest temperature setting at 250 degrees.

While I did flat iron my hair two days in a row, I made sure to reapply heat protectant and did not apply any oils to my hair in between. Some oils boil at a low temperature, so to be safe, I intentionally avoided using oils after my first flat iron and before my second flat ironing.

Here are some before and after pictures. This goes to show that you don’t need high temperature to get good results. I personally like to keep some texture in my hair, hence my using the lowest heat. The more texture in my hair, the fuller it looks.
